Summer is right around the corner! Every year around springtime, I take on the daunting task of cleaning out my closet. During this process I often find lots of pieces with tags still on them, things I forgot I ever bought, and pieces I had forever been searching for that I was convinced my washer or drier ate or my sister stole. While going through and sorting clothes I often find a couple items that I look at and say to myself, “Why do I never wear this, this is so cute!” This year I finally came to the conclusion of why those items sit in my closet all summer long and never see the sun! I HATE when my bra straps show with outfits! I have several dresses, tops, tank tops and open back tops that are hard to wear without those bra straps peaking out or showing. The answer to this dilemma- get yourself a BRALETTE! And let me tell you once you get one bralette it will change your life and you will eventually have a closet just for those!
For those of you who have not yet been introduced to a bralette you are probably wondering what the heck is a bralette?! A bralette is a decorative stylish bra without wires or molded in cups. Bralettes are typically made from lace, microfiber or cotton which means they are SUPER comfortable and soft! They are made to be lightweight and easily paired with any outfit! Unlike your normal boring bra, a bralette is meant to be shown off! They often have amazing detailing on them which makes them pop out and add the perfect finishing touches to your outfit!
The best thing about bralettes is that they are super diverse! You can wear a bralette with any kind of outfit! I often find myself wearing my bralette way more than my normal bra. Bralettes are great for open back shirts where you don’t want your plain bra clips showing. Bralettes are also good for tank tops that have skinnier straps that you don’t want your plain boring straps showing. They are also good for sweaters, dresses, cardigans and so on the list is endless! So, what I am trying to say is bralettes are the best layering piece you can own that are so diverse and will go with any outfit you have! After I purchased my first bralette I quickly grew a collection of them and now have drawers full of them!
So this summer, don’t throw those clothes back into the back of your closet because you don’t know how to wear them or you are scared of your straps slipping out and showing. Get yourself a bralette (or 10 of them) and all of your layering problems will be solved
